Year 7 English Enrichment Video Conference with Pat Flynn

On Wednesday July 1, the Year 7 English enrichment  class enjoyed the wonderful experience of a video conference with author  Pat Flynn. Mr Flynn has written many funny books for kids our age. His novels include The Tuckshop Kid and The Toilet Kid. Year 7 English enrichment class enjoyed reading The Tuckshop Kid together as a class and also at home.
During the video conference, which took place in Room 20, there was at least eight other schools from the South West region. Teachers such as Ms Gonzales joined the students in the conference. We waited patiently and listened while each school got an opportunity to ask Pat Flynn questions. He kept us entertained for over an hour. Finally, it was our speaker, Rana El-Chami’s turn to ask a question.
In his answers, Pat Flynn drew on his considerable experience as a former school teacher and athlete, finding opportunity to spin out a humorous anecdote for almost any question. At the end we had some impromptu questions and Katrina Bohnenkamp did the honours. We had a great time meeting Pat Flynn. We also had great fun interacting with other students and schools. We would love to experience this all over again.
