On the 30th June parents, friends and members of the community were invited to attend the first ever South Side Showcase. This event showcased a broad range of talent, with students singing, playing and dancing their way through the evening. Items covered a wide range of styles, with classical pieces being played in between Hip Hop dance routines and computer game music. Students had all rehearsed very hard for the performance and behaved in a professional manner on the night. Students in year nine took a leading role in the organization of the showcase, designing tickets, promotional posters, ushering, selling tickets and of course performing on the night as well. Several students had their first taste of being part of a backstage crew and found it both challenging and exciting. It was wonderful to see so many members of our school community supporting our students by being a part of the audience. The atmosphere was electric as the audience encouraged all performers to do their best as they applauded with enthusiasm. To end the night there was a lucky door prize draw which saw Ms Angiletta win a $20 Itunes gift voucher and two other lucky audience members leaving with extra large boxes of chocolates. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the Showcase, it was a great success and has left the school community wondering what great talent will be uncovered next  .
